Janet Matula, Public Relations and Product Development Branding

Ms. Matula joined the marijuana industry 6 years ago when she observed a lack of regulation and standards for edible cannabis products. Her designs of professional, tamper resistant packaging and labeling was one of the first in the industry. Those labels provide information comparable to those required for mainstream food products, as well as appropriate use guidelines and disclaimers.

Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to be an active participant and major investor in Mother Earth’s Alternative Healing Cooperative, Inc., the first fully licensed Medical Marijuana Cooperative in Southern California. She has consulted on many cannabis endeavors, including the licensing of dispensaries in the City of San Diego. Prior to this, Janet spent ten years as a principal in a natural health food company that went from start-up to national prominence through product development, marketing strategy and branding. Her career also includes executive positions in private and public companies. Janet currently sits on the board and/or is a member of several cannabis industry groups.
